Summary of course content

Students develop an understanding of the implications of technology in society and the ways Information Technology can help at home, work and the wider world. Through practical and theoretical studies, students solve problems using a variety of common software such as word processors and interactive presentation software.

Students can develop

  • an understanding of the parts, use and applications of IT systems within a range of organisations, including the use of networking technology
  • an understanding of how IT systems affect society, in general
  • a broad knowledge of the use of IT in workplace situations and the potential risks
